A gorgeous album, I discovered this on a YT top ten list, glad I did! Few DSBM albums have held my attention, this one did - straight through. Not a weak track on here, tracks 3-5 are just beautiful. The cover art is great too.

With its rawness its darkness and its subtle spark of light, this album is the perfect example of what I'm looking for when it comes to black metal. Haunting, melodic, agressive but also very cryptic. This album is really a "must have" for those who love emotional dark music.

Certains ont pu reprocher à Psychonaut 4 d'être trop prévisible et expéditif dans Dipsomania ; la pochette, avec ce bambin qui se préparait déjà au suicide, était annonciatrice. Ce défaut est corrigé dans Neurasthenia. Les pistes se rallongent jusqu'à devenir des étapes et elles sont à ce titre toujours en évolution ("Sweet Decadence" est la plus symptomatique). La dépression n'est plus un sentiment : c'est un univers qui nous hante à chaque instant. Neurasthenia est en un mot un album parfait !

On ne frappe pas un homme à terre : c'est ce que dit la règle mais NONE a déjà prouvé qu'il ne les suivait pas et si son album éponyme retirait toute perspective de béatitude spirituelle, Life has gone on long enough, son deuxième opus, nous interdit l'accès au bonheur terrestre. La vie n'a aucune substance et la production plus distante le confirme. Le DSBM s'empare de textures sonores blues, mettant en relief une dépression urbaine. Les cris partent en fumées : ne restent que les pleurs...
